Excalibur meeting on Sep. 9, students are sitting in a circle as they read through the script.
The Excalibur theater competition team met for the first time last week on Monday. Students read through the story ‘Rue’ by Mandy Conner Sep. 9 in the black box to prepare for their competition Nov. 21 – 23. Excalibur is John Champe’s competitive travel team which represents Avalon Theatre Company at the state level in a variety of theatre competitions, with a chance to move on to a national level competition. Cast and Crew have a set amount of time to prepare before shows and a time limit to how long a show can last, but Champes team has been working hard to get prepared for the upcoming competition.
“It was a really cool experience,” ensemble member Ace Weng said. “It was nice getting to know the story and everyone’s characters!”
