Music is used to convey feelings and emotions, which can help people connect. At John Champe High School, students like listening to a wide variety of music from different countries and cultures.
Students and staff at John Champe High School talked about their music opinions and what motivates them. The music that the students and staff listen to are from many different countries and cultures. Some of the more popular genres at this school are music from Asian countries. Music is one of the most popular topics.
Much of the time students feel really energized when they listen to their proclaimed hype song. “I always listen to Kpop Demon Hunters,” freshman Adam Elnokrashi said, ”I listen to the whole album.”
Like Elnokrashi, Kiersten Fennell, a junior, loves to indulge in K-pop too. K-pop is Korean pop music. The music she listens to makes her happy and invigorated when she listens to her playlist on YouTube music. ”I get motivated when I listen to music. It usually is something that I can dance to,” junior Fennel said, “I like musicals, K-pop and rock.”
Unlike Elnokrashi and Fennell, Ibraham Popal enjoys music that sounds angry because it gives him energy. “I usually listen to my music when I’m in the car or in my room. The music helps wake me up,” senior Ibraham Popal said. “I guess anything loud and aggressive motivates me.” “Just be ambitious.”
A librarian at Champe, Ms. Anderson said that she really feels motivated when she listens to songs that are very happy. She usually listens to emo music which helps her express her emotions. “It has to be super upbeat,” said Ms. Anderson, “I have to be able to sing along.”
Music can have a positive effect on everyone. Music can be one of the main things that can make people feel motivated. People feel energized when they listen to it because it is the music that makes them feel like they can connect with it through their emotions. Music gives people a calming effect and can also relax them which helps them focus as a result.
“I really like the beats, and it really hypes me up whenever I listen to it,” said Elnokrashi.
