As the school year comes to an end, a large number of students have already left for early summer vacations. A noticeable difference can be seen in the amount of people present, with the help of empty classrooms and quieter hallways. Due to family trips, college visits and out of school activities, class attendance has plummeted. To assist with this transition, many teachers are altering lesson plans and creating flexible assignments to accommodate those who are already out of school. While it may be exciting for students who are wrapping up their responsibilities ahead of schedule, those who are left to finish off the school year on time are stuck with prolonged tests and assignments. Group projects may be harder to manage with less students, and school events can receive less participation. Despite the early vacation trend, spirits are still high and school days are becoming more relaxed.
“I had to finish all of my work before my early trip to Singapore,” junior Parnika Palavalli said. “There were a lot of early tests and projects, but I got everything done so I could enjoy my vacation.”
