Champe SCA held its first annual “Knight in Shining Armor” competition hosted by Vincent Kimball and senior Madison Wilson in the auditorium, open to students of all grade levels. In total, there were 12 contestants who competed across four rounds to earn the highest points, with each round testing a different aspect of themselves.
The four rounds included:
- Intro & First Impressions – Judged based on initial appearance and presence.
- Interview – Contestants answered questions about their goals and ambitions.
- Fashion – Judged on style, and outfit choice.
- Talent – A showcase of each participant’s unique skill, such as singing, dancing, or playing an instrument
Each round was straightforward and gave participants the chance to perform in their own way. Judges scored every performance, and final scores were evaluated based on results from all four rounds. For this year, the winner was Gavin Davis, who impressed the judges with his well-rounded performance and talent in playing the saxophone. All other participants received certificates to recognize their courage and effort in stepping on stage and sharing their talents.
“I had hoped for Michael Scott to win because of his unique look in the fashion show,” junior Joshua Jalarue said. “It was a pretty good event for what it showcased and hopefully he’ll (Scott) have a better chance next year if they do it again.”
