Student Council Association (SCA) is a class you can take to plan school events to spread school spirit. You see their work from spirit weeks, to pep rallies, to school dance themes. There is a lot of work that goes into planning a pep rally for the school, which Sophomore Mariana Anez Camargo explained in an interview. The SCA uses class time to plan out aspects in committees. Scheduling is a big part of preparing a pep rally, as calendars shift often. The SCA consults with the class council members, as well as, making committees to better flesh out certain aspects of pep rallies. There can be committees for the games, but there is also a committee dedicated to making the schedules for these events. With all of the committees working together to put together a pep rally, they also have practices of pep rallies closer to the date so they know what to expect during the event. This pep rally, the Sophomores won the spirit competition.
“Since I’m a sophomore, I joined this year and a lot of the work is given out to the seniors and the upperclassmen.” Anez Camargo said. “They do a lot because they’ve been there longer and have more connections. “
