Rising star social media star , Ash Trevino, has recently come under intense backlash for her controversial presence on the viral app, TikTok. Although now becoming popular due to her controversial actions, she also gained popularity in 2023 for dating inmates. The widespread hate has made many concerned for her children and her mental state.
“I have never been so shocked by the actions of someone on social media until I saw Ash Trevino,” sophomore Ewurama Amaratey said. “I usually don’t keep in touch with what other people are doing, but I can’t help but continue to look her up to see her new crazy thing she’s done on live.”
Ash Trevino, otherwise known as “The Inmate Hopper”, is known for dating over 20 incarcerated inmates and bringing them around her children. She became increasingly popular after going on TikTok live to discuss her love life, which included vulgar details about her relationship at the time. After getting a divorce with her husband, she met up with 19 year old Santos, despite being 35 years old. She continued this affair with him until they had a messy split up that caused people on the internet to go crazy.
“I first started my TikTok back in 2019, but I was actually a prison wife,” influencer Ash Trevino said on recent live stream. “That’s why they call me the inmate hopper.”
Not only has her love life caused controversy, but so has her parenting. In recent TikTok live streams she has admitted to pulling her daughter’s hair because her husband loved their children more. This caused the media to hate on her, make hashtags, and many TikToks in response to her unhinged actions, but she remains unbothered. Camilla Araujlo, a TikTok influencer, recently invited Ash Trevino and her two daughters, 13 and 15, to attend her podcast and answer the questions the media has. Her daughters admit to having no beds in her house, being exploited for money, and being in the presence of multiple inmates that Ash met in prison.
“You said send a galaxy to know about my baby girl’s health when I was in the hospital and I still didn’t like that,” Hailey Trevino said on interview with Araujlo “You wanted to put my information out for a galaxy.”
Araujlo has since implemented herself into the Trevino drama, flying out ex-boyfriends, going on TikTok lives, making hate videos, and sending her fans to hate on Trevino. Some fans are questioning if the “Camilla and Ash” drama is for publicity, considering Trevino is constantly bragging about her wealth. Trevino stated in the podcast that she makes thousands of dollars each live, making up to $12,000 in two hours on donations. People continue to donate her money through the app, causing her to continue her actions.
“People who continue to donate are just as bad as her and the people using her for clout,” sophomore Bernice Gao said. “I find her entertaining as much as the next person, but she needs to be in jail and giving her money is not going to help her ego.”
