It is officially the end of March, the most competitive time in college basketball. March Madness is the biggest tournament for NCAA Division I men’s basketball. In the previous two years, the University of Connecticut (UCONN) had clean sweeps throughout the whole tournament. Despite the odds, that doesn’t stop students at John Champe High School from supporting their favorite teams. This tournament is crucial not only to students, but to faculty and staff as well.
“Duke ended the season as the number 1 pick in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Tournament over tough teams and individuals,” counselor John Long said. “I’ve liked Duke for 25 years because not only do the players become incredible athletes but outstanding humans as well.”
Supporting your favorite team is the fans favorite part about March Madness. This tournament is the topic of conversation all over the country. Faculty, students and staff at John Champe High School are also creating their brackets to share with others. There are big brackets all over the school, in the hallways, the counselor’s office, etc. John Champe is on the edge of their seat to see which college men’s basketball team will come out on top!
