The Regional Science and Engineering Fair (RSEF) is taking place this week, and Champe is hosting the event this year. RSEF strives to stimulate students’ interest and involvement in science, technology, engineering and math, and give them the opportunity to conduct and present their research. Over 300 high school students are participating in the fair this year from all over LCPS, and at the end of the week, awards are given out to the best projects in each category.
Sophomore Emily Ko volunteered to help out at the fair during her study hall this week, and she gives insight into what the fair looks like, “There are tables lined up throughout the gym and each one has one or two groups’ tri fold posters set up with their information,” Ko said. “I was looking at them and they are very detailed research projects with lots of data and very organized.”
LCPS is giving students the chance to really dive deep into their interests and passions, which is a great way to get students collaborating with peers on academic interests.
