Student-athletes at John Champe High School are getting excited for the new spring season to start! Before the season can begin, athletes have to attend a media day. Media day is a couple of hours dedicated to athletes taking professional photographs by themselves, with teammates, and with coaches. This day is important because these photos will represent these students in the athletic department for the season. Getting prepared for media day can be a process, from deciding what jerseys the team is going to wear to how they are doing their makeup.
“The day before, at practice we go over everything,” sophomore Kaitlyn Symoun said. “We make to confirm the jersey color, what time our slot is, etc.”
Media day can be a very stressful process but these outstanding student-athletes are very organized to prepare to tackle this daunting day. Athletes just don’t take professional photos, they take this opportunity in their jerseys to get personal photos for their social media accounts, and memories to look back on.
