Spring sports tryouts just concluded, which includes the boys soccer team. After weeks of pre-season, the coaches made their decisions for a 26-man varsity roster and a 24-man JV roster after analyzing the players for three days of tryouts where the team ran the mile test, did cone drills, and scrimmaged. On the last day, head coach Fabian Mina handed out acceptance letters to the players who made it and rejected letters to the others. Practice has now started for the team.
“Tryouts were fun; we did some conditioning, but we mostly just got to play,” senior Jeronimo Zapata said. “I think the team is [going to] be good this year. We have a lot of good players.”
The boys soccer team were able to make it to Districts last year and hope to go even further this time around.
