Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors are preparing creative campaigns for the 2025-26 Student Council Association (SCA) elections. Voting will take place on Mar. 7 where students can elect class representatives. Positions are for the SCA Executive Board, across all grade levels or class officers, which are exclusive to each grade level. Positions include president, vice president, liaison, secretary, and historian. The director of outreach is exclusive to only the SCA Executive Board.
There are three rounds in the campaign process: application, campaign week, and voting.
Round 1: Applications were available starting Feb. 18 and were due Feb. 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Round 2: Students running for office have the opportunity to campaign through five posters, ten flyers, stickers, wrapped candy, and other approved materials.
Students running cannot provide food, speak or post negative comments, or use bribery to obtain votes. Campaigning will take place from Feb. 25 to Mar. 7, so students should get out and support their peers running in this year’s student council elections.
Junior Anna Hardiman comments on SCA elections this year, “I’m so excited to be running for class secretary again!” Hardiman mentioned. “I am currently the junior class secretary and being in class council has been such a fun experience,” Hardiman added, “especially the campaigning part.”
“I’m looking forward to our pep rallies, school spirit, and making our last year at Champe the best year yet!” Hardiman shared.
A new feature for this year’s campaign will be a Presidential and Vice Presidential Debate. The debate will occur on Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2025, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. This event will allow candidates running for President and Vice President positions to address the student body live by presenting their views and engaging in valuable and respectful discussion with their opponents.
Several students who have not previously had student council experience are stepping up, offering fresh perspectives, alongside experienced individuals who have run before. It is exciting to see determined students putting themselves forward to give a voice to their peers at Champe.
