On Feb. 9, 2025 the 59th Super Bowl was held in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Philadelphia Eagles took down the Kansas City Chiefs, winning 40-22, and earning the franchise its second Super Bowl win. The Eagles win stopped the Chiefs from making history by becoming the first NFL team to win three consecutive Super Bowls. The Eagles had an outstanding performance, with corner back Cooper DeJean’s pick six, linebackers Zach Baun’s interception, and the Eagles defense sacking the Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes six times, their road to victory was clear. Although, Mahomes ended up throwing three touchdown passes late in the game, it wasn’t enough to come back and win the game.
“As a Philadelphia Eagles fan I was super excited that they won but I would have wanted to see a more competitive game because it would have been more entertaining to watch,” senior and Philadelphia sports fan Ally Schwarz said. “One of the coolest parts was watching the Eagles corner back Cooper DeJean get a pick-six to score his first touchdown on his birthday.”
