On Friday, January 24th, John Champe High School will host a school-wide Rock, Paper, and Scissors competition. At the beginning of the day, every student who wants to participate will be given a colored beaded necklace at random. Students challenge each other with a game of rock, paper, and scissors between classes and during lunch. Whoever loses is expected to hand over all their beaded necklaces to the winner. If students have no more necklaces, they’re out unless they buy another necklace for two dollars during their lunch. Each colored necklace holds a different amount of points, and the two students with the most points will go head-to-head in a championship round. The winner will be announced at the end of the day on Thursday, and be given a free Winter Formal ticket and free food on Friday.
“I’ve played against two people so far, and won two more necklaces,” senior Kate Workman said. “I have three right now, but I’m planning on winning a lot more.”
