Over winter break, just before the start of school, a snow storm hit Loudoun County. About half a foot of snow accumulated on the ground. This caused a 4 day Winter Break extension via snowdays. Due to this, school sports took a pause. School is now able to reconvene, however the snow still covers the ground and fields outside. This has forced school sports to remain being put on hold. Athletes and coaches alike are waiting for the snow to clear up so they can go back to training.
“Soccer was supposed to start last week but the fields were covered in snow,” senior Arman Naderi said. “We’re [going to] start training indoors while we wait for the snow to melt.”
Once the snow clears up, sports are looking to get right back into action to ensure athletes stay in practice for a successful season.
