John Champe’s Key Club is holding a meeting on Dec. 16th to celebrate Christmas and the holidays by giving back to their community and school. Key Club is an international, student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character, and develop leadership. Key Club offers many volunteering opportunities, ranging from helping animal shelters to charities and donations. On Dec. 16th the club will participate in the Christmas door decorating competition, where club members will collaborate and design doors for teachers of their choice. At the same time, Key Club is trying to incorporate more volunteer opportunities for our members, as well as gathering some insight on what members would want to see more of in the club. They’ve already donated hand-made god toys to an animal shelter, and some baked goods to donate to charity.
“As secretary of Key Club, I always try to give back to my community,” junior Jenny Zheng said. “while arranging fun activities for our volunteers to do at the same time, especially during meetings around the holidays.”
