John Champe High School had its first gymnastics competition on Monday, Dec. 2nd at 6 pm. The meet was versus Stone Bridge, Briar Woods, Dominion, and Loudoun Valley at Stone Bridge High School. At the meet, sophomore Hannah Lai won the bar’s events with a score of 8.95 out of 10 points.
“We have a brand new team with Mrs. Carter, our new coach,” junior Natalie Jan said. “the meet was about 2 weeks after tryouts, so it was a little stressful getting everyone to learn their routines and knowing what events they were doing,” Jan added. “But, the meet went very well, and we have things to work on,” she said, “but we are excited to have our next meet at some so we are all hopeful.”
With a positive outlook and dedication, the Champe gymnastics team has a lot of successful meets to look forward to.
