Champe DECA attended this year’s Ultimate DECA Power Trip Event in Charlotte, North Carolina, from Nov. 15-17. The event had limited spots available, with roughly 50 participants from Champe, and it operated on a first-come, first-served basis. It provided an exclusive three-day, two-night conference experience where members could explore, network, and engage in career and business learning opportunities while staying at Omni Hotels & Resorts. On the opening night, a keynote speaker kicked off the event, setting the tone for an exciting weekend. The following day included a roleplay competition, allowing members to showcase their business knowledge and communication skills. Additionally, workshops were conducted to help members enhance their entrepreneurial skills, along with a career exploration center where they could meet representatives from various colleges and build valuable connections. On the final night, DECA members enjoyed an exclusive tour of the NASCAR Hall of Fame, where they got to see famous cars and racers and had the chance to experience a realistic racing simulator with their friends. Overall, the experience was memorable for Champe DECA, and they look forward to creating more in participating this year’s DLC, SLC, and ICDC competitions.
“I learned many skills and improved many abilities during my trip to North Carolina,” sophomore Aarush Sahu said. “I enjoyed it very much, especially when we got to see a life-size Lightning McQueen at the Nascar tour, would very much love to experience power trip again.”
