Starting Nov. 11th, Red Cross is starting their Thanksgiving Food Drive. Recently, Red cross has been involved in many projects to restart their club as soon as possible. They finalized leadership and even hosted a T-shirt making competition, to create the official Red Cross T-shirt. They also created an infographic about the effects Hurricane Milton to bring awareness to the situation. Red Cross will collect non-perishable food items like rice, crackers, beans, and canned foods. Their goal is to collect as much food as possible, until the food drive ends on the 21st to give back to people in need. Once the food drive ends, Red Cross leadership will drive their goods to the Dulles South Food Pantry. In order to bring attention to the field drive, Red Cross is placing flyers across the school and giving out information on the morning announcements.
“We’re glad we can create an opportunity to give back to the community, especially during times like Hurricane Milton,” junior Jiya Patel said. “We want to make sure everyone has a good holiday season!”
