The Champe Volleyball season has come to an unfortunate end with a record of 10-15. The team consisted of nine seniors, three juniors, one sophomore, and one freshmen. Senior Night was on Oct. 27th against Loudoun County. Although they unfortunately lost in three sets that night, the came back and won a set against them during Districts. First, Champe played Parkview, which they dominated in three sets. The next day, they fell to Loudoun County. Although the season came to an abrupt end during the district battle, the girls had a strong bond and that became clear on the court. All District teams came out this week, which contains three of our own Champe players. Maura Martinez made Second Team All District. Macy Farester and Mikayla Viray-Belev made First Team All District. Although Macy and Mikayla have been on Varsity for all four years, this is Maura’s first year on Varsity. She not only conquered the court with her presence and earning a district team spot, but she also won a Coaches award.
“I had a great time this season with all of my friends and I don’t think any other season will compare” Martinez said. “I’m proud of myself that I put myself out there my first year on Varsity and I succeeded more than I could have ever imagined.”
