On Nov. 7th, John Champe High School had its interest meeting for the winter season for Color Guard. For the winter season, the Color Guard performs indoors in gyms. They spin their flags to popular songs to be seen by judges. This season, the JCHS Color Guard might join together with Broad Run’s Color Guard as they have more resources than John Champe, but not as many interested students for their team. The Color Guard is having Try-It clinics on Nov. 15th & 18th from 4:45 – 6:00 pm in the band room to show interested students what sort of things go into participating in indoor color guard.
“I’m hopeful for the season, they’re asking us for, like, show ideas,” indoor color guard member Alyssa Walker said. “They’re asking us to submit one song they think would be cool.”
