The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards was announced on October 15, 2024. It took place in Las Vegas with Kendrick Lamar emerging as the night’s biggest winner. Lamar, who was nominated for 11 awards, took home eight, including Song of the Year and Artist of the Year. The event also saw Lamar win Lyricist of the Year and Best Hip Hop Video for his hit song “Not Like Us.” Other notable winners included Nicki Minaj and Travis Scott, who was honored with the prestigious I Am Hip Hop Award. Out of all the winners, Lamar took dominance throughout the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards.
“I think it’s deserved because he had the song of the summer,” senior Somesh Jaganagari said. “His rap beef with Drake was one of the most popular trends on social media.”
Lamar’s achievements in the hip-hop industry on that night showcased his unparalleled dominance in that world.
