On Oct. 8th, John Champe hosted a University of Virginia representative. The session took place during the last 30 minutes of 7th block. Over 200 juniors and seniors attended the session, and had their questions answered. Some of the information given by the representative included what the college application is like, how UVA college life is like, and tips to increase your chances of getting in. University of Virginia is known for its low acceptance rate, currently at 18%, so any additional information is a good step towards college applications. Though it was also recommended that students pay a visit to the campus and the town of Charlottesville as well, before applying. The University of Virginia offers students three chances to apply-Early Decision, Early Action, and Regular Decision.
“I went to the University of Virginia Rep Visit, and I learned so much from it,” said junior Priyanka Patel. “Even if I’m a junior, I wanted to get a head start on those applications.”
