Since October is breast cancer awareness month, this week, and all month, Champe students are showing their spirit and support for the cause by wearing pink each day of the week, an initiative started by SCA. Not only was spirit shown by participating in spirit days throughout the week, but support was given to the cause as DECA donated the proceeds earned from selling pink out shirts in the armory school store to the Loudon Breast Network. The Loudoun Breast Network is a local organization that gives support to breast cancer fighters and survivors in various ways. Additionally, the girl’s volleyball team raised money by selling treats at lunch, before their pink out game on October 8. To wrap up the week, varsity football will play Loudoun County High School at home with a “pink out” spirit theme.
“The pink week spirit has been great, but more importantly, SCA and other school clubs and teams are raising awareness about Breast Cancer,” said SCA sponsor Ms. Carter. “To raise money for the cause, SCA will hosting a pink walk on October 24.”
