On September 25th, Champe’s new Indian-fusion dance team held an interest meeting for everyone interested, offering information on how to audition and make the team. The team combines Semi-Classical with Bollywood styles of dance, and will accept only 10-15 members through auditions. On the night of the 28th, interested applicants will receive two different choreos to practice for the audition on Tuesday, Oct. 15th. Dancers must sign up for specific time slots on audition day beforehand to ensure everything runs smoothly. A rehearsal will be held on Oct. 3rd to help the dancers nail the chores and gain extra help before auditions as well. After the team is finalized, they will continue to perform at multicultural nights, pep rallies, and host competitions or stages with other dance teams across Loudoun County. They will also find new ways to incorporate dance into ways to earn volunteer hours and give back to the community.
“Champe Rangila is for anyone who wants to learn fusion dance from zero experience to professional dancers with a lot of experience, ” junior Durga Ghanta said. “We want to be fair throughout the process so participants can audition with their friends, come to our extra sessions to gain more experience, and email any of leadership for extra help.”
