As of September 18, Meta began unveiling their new method for creating a more healthier environment online. Instagram, Meta’s most popular Social Media platforms, began imposing these new restrictions, primarily targeting teens.
“I feel like the private mode is kind of both, sad and beneficial for us students,” junior Abdul Qani said. “Some may feel kind of sad because of this, but if you think about it, its limiting most of the distractions regarding Insta.”
By adding new restrictions, such as automatically privatizing all accounts belonging to teens under the age of 18, they are ensuring the safety and comfort of all individuals. Moreover, by doing so, Meta fulfills the concerns of most parents and guardians regarding the exposure of social media on their children.
