As the year winds down and only one week remains, teachers are beginning to pivot away from education and more to entertainment. Multiple teachers have begun to allow their students to stay on their phones or watch a movie on the board. Other teachers like Mrs. Weaver and Mr. Elmquist are continuing to advance student’s education by assigning projects as a way to give easy points to students to improve their grades. English teacher Jessica Spencer has allowed her students to watch a movie while she prepares one more activity for her Freshmen class.
“I am planning to have my students share the work they’ve done over the last couple of weeks with their peers,” Spencer said, “By ‘pitching’ the books they’ve read in class to their fellow students.” Spencer is also making her sophomore class pitch their books next week as a way to fully end the school year.
“I think it is good to have work continuing until the last week,” Spencer said, “While I am not able to do it, I support any educator that continues to assign projects and assignments throughout the last week”.
