Girl’s Soccer and Softball at Champe have qualified for States. This is the first time that both teams have qualified for States in Champe history. These teams have been dominant in their districts and worked their way through Regions to earn their spot in the State quarter-finals. The games will be played on Tuesday, June 4, where Softball will play Jefferson Forest High School and Girl’s Soccer plays Blacksburg High School.
Both of these Champe teams are proud to represent Champe and be the first to accomplish these great milestones. Softball captain Devon Yi shares why this is so important to her, “I am so happy to have this experience of playing in States, because I know that it isn’t very common either,” Yi said, “It took three seasons to build up the team, but I am excited that we made it to this point.”
This is a great accomplishment for any team, and Soccer and Softball will be cheered on from Champe. If they win on Tuesday, they will play in the State tournament on Friday and Saturday.
