National teacher appreciation week begins on May 6th and ends on May 10th. The tradition of acknowledging and rewarding teachers for their hard work throughout the year first started 70 years ago in 1953. This is a time where the school’s administration can bring special attention to educators and do something special for them. Champe students also show their appreciation by bringing gifts, cards, or verbally expressing gratitude. This is an eventful week for all teachers and administrators.
“My teachers allow me to learn so much by going above and beyond in their teaching,” sophomore Tanvi Puthumbhaku said. “I made sure to drop off some gift cards and made sure I thanked them extra this week.”
