Spring sports are soon coming to an end as the end of the school year approaches. There is a track meet on Friday, May 10 against Harrisonburg High School. Many players on the team are prepping for upcoming districts in two weeks. Champe’s indoor track team was successful this season, which they continue on with their ongoing outdoor season. After winning districts for indoor track, many athletes are optimistic about ending the season on a good record. Junior Sophia Hoopingarner has qualified for districts for the 2024 season and was on the indoor track team.
“I’m so happy that I qualified for districts,” Hoopingarner said. “I’ll be cheering for my other teammates as well when they compete, and I hope the meet on Friday will prepare us for the really important meets.”
