Softball began their season in early March, and have been playing games since then, but up until last week, they were only to prepare for the district games, which are the ones that count towards the official record and rankings. The team played their first district games against Loudoun County High School last Tuesday and Thursday, splitting the record 1-1.
The team win was a strong one, and the game was easily won, with the score finishing as 4-0. Junior and starting player Ally Schwarz shares what she felt was best about the win, “it was such a great feeling for the team to defat loudoun county on thursday after losing to them our first game,” Schwarz said. “I think it boosted our confidence as a team and definitely will help us feel better going into the next two weeks of district games.”
As the team works towards a successful district run in their first season in the Catoctin District, this first win definitely sets the standard.
