Loudoun County High School’s Gender and Sexuality Alliance is hosting its 3rd annual Pride Prom on Saturday, May 4th. Loudoun Country High School Gender and Sexuality Alliance is made by students “who identify with every color of the LGBTQIA2S+ and beyond” as stated on their website. The club stands to make sure students have a comfortable environment to feel like they can express themselves fully. One of the ways they want to achieve that goal is through Pride Prom. Tickets are twelve dollars for each person, and tickets are sold on SchoolCashOnline or even in person on the day of Pride Prome. Students must bring their LCPS ID, and students who want to bring someone outside of LCPS must complete a Google form beforehand. Food and Drinks will be provided, and students are given the chance to give out their input as to what songs they would like to see being played. The only dress code for this event is to make sure everyone there is comfortable with what they are wearing. Pride Prom was created for the sole reason of making every student feel comfortable and accepted while getting to enjoy the night.
“While I’m not going this year, I know several people who are,” sophomore Charlotte Long said. “They seem super excited about it and I’m sure they’ll have a great time.”
