This week 4/1- 4/5 JCHS SASA, South Asian Student Association, had organized an event to celebrate the Hindu festival of Holi on 04/04/2024. Holi is a popular Indian festival which celebrates the love between two gods, Radha and Krishna. Holi, also known as the Festival of Colors, and is usually culturally celebrated with dancing along with people throwing colored dye at each other where the bright colors symbolize love and devotion for the gods. Champe had organized a fun experience where students would have been allowed to go out and celebrate holi with their peers. There would have been dye and water balloons so that the students would have been able to fully enjoy this experience. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather the event was canceled on Thursday. SASA is hoping to reschedule the event to later this year so that students would still be able to celebrate Holi with each other.
“SASA’s goal for the event was to make sure that everyone had fun and helped us raise money for future events,” SASA Treasurer Uday Kandi said. “I hope that we will be able to reschedule the event.”
