This past Thursday from 9am to 3pm, the 2024 Educators Rising Conference was held for multiple schools all around Loudoun County at Shenandoah University. There were numerous speakers and educators spread throughout the building where students can go to learn about different ways to effectively each kids. There were many different types of educators there such as teachers, principles, superintendents, and school board administrators.
“At the conference there were many different sessions about varying aspects of the teaching field such as best practices, the hiring methods, and methodology,” educators rising student Emily Bluyus said. “The conference was beneficial for both those interested in the field of teaching and those who are not.”
Students who are interested in teaching can learn methods on what motivates teachers and how teachers can implement effective methods to teach their students. Those who are not interested in teaching were able to learn about skills and techniques that also apply to a variety of other professions.
“I really felt like all the students got to see the real insight of teaching and learn all about a profession we might want to pursue in the future by those who are currently working in that field,” sophomore Liv Mcmann said. “I chose to go to a course about the difference between equity and equality; we learned how to make a safe space for students and help aid all different types of needs they may have.”
