The boys JV and Varsity lacrosse teams are looking forward to a successful season after both teams won against Westfield this past Thursday. The final score for the boys JV game was 1-0 with Charlie Currier scoring the first goal in the second half. The Varsity Boys team ended the game in a win with a score of 10-9, with a great goal off a mid-game faceoff. With the division changes this year, our Varsity lacrosse team has a great chance of making it to regionals as well as states.
“The JV game went pretty well as we got the win, our team had great ball movement throughout the whole game which was great to see,” freshman lacrosse player Sunny Kodeti said. “They decided to put in some of the other players which was a great development opportunity for a lot of us.” Many of the underclassman boys lacrosse player are able to switch between JV and Varsity, this gives the players opportunities to experience both levels.
“Our defense was slow in the beginning but they started to pick it up later on and lock the opposing team’s offense down for the rest of the game,” lacrosse player Harrison Tyler said. “I think we could have scored more goals but our defense was helped a lot in not letting the other team score.”
