A massive cellular network outage across the United States occurred on Thursday, February 22, 2024. The outage began early morning around 6:00 AM EST and last til 6:00 PM EST. It lasted approximately 12 hours. Cellular companies such as AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile have all been affected because of this. The outage also affected millions of people across the US, specifically in major areas including Atlanta, New York City, Dallas, and the DC area. During this time, phone calls were not able to go through and millions of people could only call emergency services.
“The cellular outage made it harder for me to communicate with my loved ones,” junior Daniel Prakash said. “It made it harder for me to communicate with my loved ones. I hope this kind of situation doesn’t cause a problem for people in the future.”
Companies are still investing as to why this network outage occurred.
