The time of year has come where every student at Champe is meeting with their counselors to get their classes picked out for next year. Many students already have an idea of what they want to take as they have planned previous classes based on what they want to do in the future, and some like to try new things and see if they find something they really enjoy. Either way, it can be a stressful time for the students as they navigate their future, and it can also get very chaotic for all the counselors trying to meet with hundreds of students.
Some students, especially rising seniors, already go into the meeting with a good idea of what they want to take, as the past three years have led them to this point. With the opportunity for seniors to also have late arrival or early release, this can also factor into the decision. Junior Chloe Jhang has already picked out her classes for next year, “I was planning to have early release for a while before choosing my schedule because it will allow more opportunities for volunteer hours and extracurricular activities,” Jhang said, “along with extra time if I work.”
It is a very exciting time for students as they can see their future more clearly and work with their counselors to make a path to success.
