Neuralink is a chip meant to be implanted in the brain, and be able to control a computer, keyboard, or communicate with others using only thoughts. This invention came to fruition by the SpaceX founder, Elon Musk in 2016. The idea of this is a radical one, similar to that of something “magical” or “impossible”, but with technology, it could be possible.
Neuralink will not only affect society as a whole in the form of communication, as it is intended to aid those who have missing abilities, but the effects on the education system are likely to be drastic. “Many people are interested in shortcuts to success,” (Eightify), “Neuralink’s brain chip upgrades could disrupt education by providing a solution, making traditional schooling unnecessary.” The widespread access to this technology will only come after a few years, but when it does, schooling will be significantly impacted. Students would readily have access to any and all information, not needing to memorize or remember things because it would simply be encrypted into their memory. As of recently, an unidentified person has been officially tested on with the Neuralink chip implant in a clinical trial, and is said to be recovering well. Although Neuralink is still getting up off its feet, A.I. is drastically improving day by day and revolutionizing society.
