Champe athletics began their spring sports tryouts this Monday, February 19th. This includes tryouts for baseball, soccer, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and outdoor track. Some of these sports have been hosting preseason practices and training for months. All week long students will attempt to meet the requirements, including mile times, sport-specific skills, and overall athleticism as many of the athletes aim high to be a member of Champe’s highly competitive varsity sports. Now, it is time for Champe athletes to show all of their hard work and dedication, by making these exceptional programs.
“The preseason was a lot of lifting and improving our arm strength, we also had a hitting camp to get back into rhythm and improve our baseball mechanics,” said Red Jackson, who is actively trying out for Champe’s baseball team, ” We will hear if we made the team this Wednesday.”
