At the Catoctin district swim meet on Saturday, February 3rd, Champe’s representatives performed exceptionally across the board. Most Notably, four of the Champe Varsity Swim members, including Bryce Rohr, Cole Wergley, Cal Rice, and Bi Nguyen, broke Champe’s record for the fastest Boys 200 Freestyle Relay. Additionally, there are nine girls and nine boys advancing to regionals for various strokes and relays. Overall, both the boys’ and girls’ team placed 2nd. Regionals will be Saturday, February 10th at the Claude Moore Recreation Center.
“I feel very excited that I was able to qualify regionals as a freshman, as it feels like my hard work has paid off,” regionals finalist Becca Cornell said. “My team and I prepared for this success by attending all of the practices numerous times per week.”
