On February 1, 2024 the Track and Field team here at Champe participated in Districts. The meet was held here at our stadium, with four other schools in attendance: Broad Run High School, Loudoun County High School, Park View High School, and Woodgrove High School. The meet was very competitive, but our Girls Track team took home first at the District meet. The Girls Track team will advance to regionals, along with anyone else throughout the entire team who was able to qualify as an individual.
“I was shocked when we won, but I’m so happy we did because all the hard work we put in during the season was completely worth it,” junior Haasini Suravarapu said. “Our biggest competitor was Woodgrove and we really didn’t expect to win because our scores were tied for a good amount of time.”
“We all focused on our events and helped others new to track who qualified as well,” Suravarapu said. “We are all very happy and proud of all the hard work each one of us gave and glad we all showed up the best we could for the team.”
