Loudoun County Public Schools was closed on January 16, January 17, and January 19, 2023 because of the snowy weather. The only day that students had a full day of school was Thursday, January 18, 2023. The week of the snow days was also the last week of the 2nd quarter. Due to this, many students had to make up tests and assignments the week after because of the closures, ultimately pushing back the tests and assignments of Quarter 2 into Quarter 3. Teachers are finalizing grades, but they got delayed because of the snow days.
“Although it was stressful to finish all tests and assignments before the end of the quarter, snow days helped me to improve my grades and reduced stress that I had over the quarter ending,” junior Roshnni Rajeshkannan said. “They gave my extra time to study for all my upcoming end of the quarter exams and helped me improve my overall semester grade”
John Champe High School’s quarter 2 grades will be fully complete by the time report cards come out.
