Step Up Loudoun Youth Competition registration closes this week on January 12th. Step Up Loudoun is a competition targeted towards middle and high schoolers to identify, address, and bring awareness to an issue found in their neighborhoods. The competition encourages students to bring positive changes to their neighborhood and themselves. Step Up starts with the registration process, and once it is approved, then teams can start making a plan on how to address the issue of their choosing. The competition is split into two rounds, with the judges deciding on which 10 teams advance to the next round. The first, second, and third place winners receive a cash prize, and connections to help them further their project if they would like.
“As a former winner of the Step Up Youth Loudoun Competition, it’s a great opportunity to participate in,” said sophomore Bhavya Annamreddy. “I learned a lot, so go sign up before the registration closes!”
