On Friday, December 1st, the Champe ice hockey team took on the Broad Run Spartans at the Ashburn Icehouse. While the Knights didn’t take home a win, losing eight to four, the game was an intense three periods. Constant pressure from the Knights kept the game close up until the very end with goals from Cole Rounds-Rabe, Brady St. Onge, and captain Shane Siwik. As well as some amazing saves from goalie, Zak Ismail. This game featured quite a few aggressive moments demonstrating to everyone watching the high energy these players bring to the ice. The student and parent support from both teams was overwhelming throughout the entirety of the match.
“It was a super fun game to watch,” senior Casey Palmisano said. “I’m obviously upset we didn’t come out with the win but there’s always next week.”
The Knights match up against Kettle Run on friday, December 8th at 9:30 at the haymarket iceplex. Come out and support this team on their journey to another state championship.
