December 1st marked the start of the Human Trafficking Awareness Club’s annual Dressember fundraiser. Every member of Champe’s HTAC who dresses up throughout the month is helping to bring awareness to human trafficking victims. More specifically, each member has a link where anyone can donate money. These links are shared daily on individuals’ Instagram stories, featuring the person dressed up in formal dresses, skirts, button ups, and more. All donations go towards helping human trafficking victims fund shelter, food, as well as clothing. Thus far, HTAC has collectively raised over $1,000, as of December fifth, remarkably.
“People can always participate in Dressember even if they’re not in the club. The more dressed up, the more awareness there is,” said club member Kyra Tellman. “I participate in Dressember because it is really important to me that people know they are supported.”
