Two inspired seniors in DECA have launched a program designed to help both freshman and sophomores succeed in high school. The leaders of the project, Soha Karambelkar and Christina Zheng, hope to make this possible by creating small lessons and teaching them to interested students during their study halls. Each lesson is used to teach underclassmen tips and tricks to study more efficiently so that they can do their best in school. They also plan on creating more personalized plans for members to target their weaknesses and utilise their strengths. In addition to that, they’re creating a website accessible to everyone with organizational templates. With all these resources, underclassmen are given the opportunity to make their highschool journey easier and more productive.
“We were inspired to do this because as senior who are going to be leaving high school in less than a year, we have first handed experience in the hardships that can come with being an underclassman and wish there was a program like this when we were in 9th and 10th grade,” Karambelkar said. “We hope that with this program we can bring a positive impact to the John Champe Community that will continue even when we leave this school.”
