The first home game was a tense one but ultimately ended in a great win by the Girls Varsity Basketball team. The opener game was against Justice High School and ended in a score of 46-44. As the score was neck-and-neck the whole game, the student section was at the edge of their seats watching the score closely. With a great AAU season and start to the winter season, the Girls Varsity Basketball team has already raised the bar from last year.
“Winning our home opener was the huge confidence boost our team needed. We are working hard in hopes to start a winning streak for the following games,” Varsity Basketball player Anika Badatala said. “With the scores being so close I believed that it really pushed us to work better as a team and sparked our eagerness to win.”
“Even though the score was so close making everyone feel nervous, we’re all really proud of the outcome, ” Pointguard Zia Kotadiya said. “We’re gonna keep practicing and working hard so that the other teams don’t know what’s coming.”
