Thanksgiving is coming up, and Loudoun County is providing a 3-day holiday for this celebration that is honored all throughout the country. Thanksgiving is a holiday inspired by the expression of gratitude for the harvest in the cultures of the Pilgrims who sailed from England and the Native Americans that inhabited the U.S. in 1620. Now, it is celebrated as a representation of the moral lesson that is appreciation for the world and the people around us.
“Thanksgiving break is important because we get time to appreciate ourselves and others, “sophomore Kashish Lotlikar said.” It also lets us take some time to rest and continue on with the quarter.”
This holiday acts as a break to students and helps rest their minds amidst this celebration. Thanksgiving to students holds the meaning of being grateful and alleviating stress in their days-off from their working environment that is school. It is full of culture, honor, and commemoration of appreciating the world that people live in.
