Last Friday, November 3rd, was the 2023 John Champe Football Senior (K)night. The game was the last regular season game against John Champe’s biggest rivals, Freedom High School. Every year the Champe Freedom game is one that brings attendance records high. Students from both schools aim to fill their student sections and families of the Aldie/South Riding area all come.
Before the game, the seniors were announced and walked through the inflatable knight shaped tunnel. Something different that Champe did for football senior night was invite other Fall sports to participate. The Marching Band, Cheer, Dance, Football, and Track teams all walked out before kickoff. The teams were announced by proud JCHS dad and boys lacrosse coach, Scott Moskowitz.
“The energy and vibe of the game was spectacular”, Scott Moskowitz says. ” I enjoy announcing for games like these.”
Overall the atmosphere was loud and energetic in the crowd and on the field. The theme of the game was USA out, so fans were decked head to two in red, white, and blue. Thankfully, the game ended in a Knights win and the football team was presented the district trophy after the game.
