After a long day of PSATs for underclassmen, Champe’s SCA hosted its inaugural walk-a-thon during this week’s pink out. Their goal was not only to provide a break for hard-working students but also to raise money for Loudoun County’s Breast Health Network. During third block, students purchased a two-dollar ticket online or in person. Kicking off the event, Champe’s marching band gave a seven minute performance to welcome the attendees. Held at Champe’s football stadium, students were able to walk around the track. Also, students competed in a game of tug-of-war among other games in the center of the field.
“We had many people attend and we made even more money than we expected to, donating half of it to breast cancer research and helping SCA as well,” SCA member Madison Wilson said. “The student body most definitely enjoyed it, we had lots of positive feedback about how fun the activity was, and I think it would be great to do again!”
