John Champe winter sports are back in the coming weeks. Although they start later this month, preseason training is well underway. Winter sports include Basketball, Indoor Track, Wrestling, Swimming, and more. John Champe Sophomore, Alaa Aboelenein, talks about her winter sport and what she’s doing this preseason to stay prepared.
“I’m doing Indoor Track this winter,” Aboelenein said. “For preseason, we have to make sure our millage is consistent by averaging 25-30 miles per week and every two days we intensify by doing intervals, mile repeats, or speed workouts like 200, 400, 600, 800, or 1,000 meter repeats.”
Athletes of all winter sports are working tirelessly to make sure they’re in the best shape for this upcoming season.
